This event is about bringing together grassroots leadership, public health advocates, scholars, the community and YOU to address the reproductive health disparity experienced by Black women & girls with a strategy session toward achieving cultural competency in care, education and services.

Dr. Thema Bryant Davis - Opening & Welcome - Dr. Thema Bryant-Davis is an Associate Professor os Psychology at Pepeprdine University.

Loretta Ross - Loreta Ross is a founding member of SisterSong, Loretta Ross became National Coordinator in 2005. In 2004, Loretta was National Co-Director of the April 25, 2004 March for Women's Lives in Washington D.C., the largest protest march in U.S. history with more than one million participants.

Vernellia Randall has been a Professor at the School of Law since 1990 and Ms. Randall writes extensively on and speaks internationally about race, women, and health care. She is the recipient of the Ohio Commission on Minority Health Chairman’s Award.

Harriet Washington is a medical ethicist and writer whose work focuses upon the intersection of biotechnology, ethics and the history of medicine.

Dr. Gail E. Wyatt- Dr. Wyatt is a clinical psychologist, sex therapist and professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at UCLA. Her research examines the consensual and abusive sexual relationships of women and men, the cultural context of risks for sexually-transmitted diseases and HIV.

Loretta Jones - is the founder and Executive Director of Healthy African American Families (HAAF) II. She is a co-investigator of the NIMH UCLA/RAND Center for Research on Quality in Managed Care, the NIA UCLA Center for Health Improvement in Minority Elderly (CHIME).
Mary M. Lee - Mary is a graduate of Boalt Hall School of Law, U.C. Berkeley, and is a practicing attorney with more than 25 years of experience working in communities throughout California, focusing on issues of housing, land use and community economic development and civil rights.
Fran Jemmott- Her life’s work is concentrated at the nexus of public health, mental health and community development with a focus on systems change, capacity building, policy advocacy and fund development.
