Let's work together to achieve health equity!

Raising Women’s Voices is very excited about the opportunities in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that will enable us to work toward health equity. To get right to work on this important issue RWV is organizing a working group on health equity. In our work group, we will consider health disparities that are based on race, ethnicity, gender, class, sexual orientation, disability and other factors, so that together we can successfully advocate for our families and diverse communities. This working group will be led by RWV co-founder Byllye Avery, founder of the National Black Women’s Health Project and RWV's Eesha Pandit at The MergerWatch Project of Community Catalyst.

To launch this working group we are hosting a conference call to share with you our vision for health equity and to discuss the opportunities afforded to us though the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. We will hear from health equity expert Lisa Renee Holderby who currently serves as Director of Health Equity at Community Catalyst.

Date: Tuesday, August 3, 2010
Time: 2pm EST
