"Many black women know that good health is not simply the absence of illness. It is a journey - where a new attitude and new cultural norms propel us to choose wellness and reduce risks." (Eleanor Hinton Hoytt of the Black Women's Health Imperative -- a BWW partner)
Caring about our health means caring about our health care options and making the best choices possible.
As 2013 comes to a close we are reminiscing about the historic changes to health coverage that have gone into effect and the many members of our community who have signed up for health insurance starting January 1st, some having access to health coverage for the first time! The Affordable Care Act is making health insurance coverage more affordable and accessible for millions of Americans.
